Documentary on Social Work Through B-Boying
POSTED ON April 25th, 2008 BY Paul
Many of you have heard of Buddha from Canadian Floor Masters. His regular posts on Bboyworld and the Freestyle Session forums show his continued involvement in the b-boy scene, even at the age of 48. And as this video shows, he is a far cry from being just another “e-boy.”
Another expression of his commitment to b-boying is a project called Blueprint for Life. Buddha’s degree in social work made him especially well suited to begin the project, which takes him and the rest of CFM to the community of Cambridge Bay, Nunavut to teach the youth about b-boying and hip-hop in general. They documented the experience in a film entitled Arctic Hip Hop, which so far has been well received by reviewers. The film looks like a good representation of the positive things that the b-boy community can accomplish. Thanks to Buddha and all of CFM for raising the bar.
