This is old (2002), but if you haven’t seen it, then you need to check out this page for the NPR show Present at the Creation. They had a feature called simply Breakdancing where they explored the origins of the b-boy movement.

Also at the bottom of the page are links to other media, including an All Things Considered report on the “revival of breakdancing” that talks about what was going on in the b-boy movement in 2002. The page also has links to clips from The Freshest Kids as well as links to some classic b-boy songs.

Featured b-boys include Remind, El Nino, Trac2, Jojo, Crazy Legs, and Mr. Wiggles.
