Through some path that I can’t quite retrace, I managed to stumble on a blog called Voodoo Funk. The blog is run by “Frank,” who lived in West Africa for three years and is now a DJ located in NYC.

While in Africa, he made it his mission to “find as many vintage African records as possible” and has decided to lovingly pass them on to us. Presented as one file MP3 mixes, they cover many different styles of African music but center mostly on funk.

Not every mix is prime b-boy material, so I’ve highlighted some of the ones that we b-boys and b-girls might like the most:

- More West African Disco Just For You
- Root of Evil
