New Book Features Cypher Photography
POSTED ON October 29th, 2008 BY CalvinLet’s face it: most b-boys and b-girls don’t make very good photographers. We’re not willing to almost get our heads kicked off by renegade powermovers. We don’t ever take the time to learn the settings for our point-and-shoot cameras. We are more likely to jump in a cypher when something exciting happens than to take a picture of it.
Which is why it’s a good thing that people like Charles Peterson, acclaimed grunge photographer, are persistent in lugging their heavy-ass, expensive equipment to cyphers all over New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, Portland, and Tokyo over a six-year time span.
There’s an introduction by Jeff Chang, a preface by ORB from Circle of Fire, and 136 pages featuring flix of cats from Rock Steady Crew, Massive Monkees, Circle of Fire, Killafornia, Rivers Crew, Drifters Crew, Mortal Kombat Crew, Mighty Zulu Kingz, and many more.
Christmas list, anyone?

Looks like a pretty good book. Have you checked out the book in its entirety yet?
Not yet, but hopefully we can get a review up soon. Thanks for commenting, and props for CELEBREAK — I’m really feeling everything on it and about it.
