A few weeks ago, after realizing I couldn’t afford cable TV, I gave in and signed up for Netflix. After sitting on my computer for three or four hours manically building my queue, I stumbled upon some b-boy DVDs. I had heard that Netflix supposedly had “everything,” but I still didn’t expect it to have much in the way of b-boying.

The selection isn’t huge, but it’s bigger than you’d get at a Blockbuster. And with a few available for “Instant Watch” (finally available on Mac), you can get your fix whenever you want. I’ve outlined the selection that’s available and provided links for you to add them to your own queue.

		The Freshest Kids: A History of the B-Boy We all know this one. The definitive b-boying documentary still holding its ground after seven years, The Freshest Kids is at the top of this list for a reason. NETFLIX LINK
		Planet B-Boy This globe-spanning documentary exploded onto the scene last year with a theatrical release, something previously unheard of for a b-boying documentary. Check out our review to see what this film has in store. NETFLIX LINK
		Inside The Circle A very personal look into the lives of b-boys, this film follows Omar of Jive Turkeys and MZK and Josh of Masterz of Mayhem and Mind 180 through five years of their lives. Check out our review for more info. NETFLIX LINK
		Red Bull BC One The source of all those amazingly shot Steadicam battles you’ve seen featured on MySpace and YouTube, this event pits b-boys against each other in a yearly 1 vs. 1 battle. To see footage from last month’s battle, click HERE. NETFLIX LINK
		Flave & Ruen: Infamous: Style Element Crew Frankie Flave and Ronnie Ruen’s styles are different enough that this DVD should please both style and power-heads. This looks to be a good watch for anyone that’s been following them over the years or for someone in need of an introduction. NETFLIX LINK
		Floorlords: Flava Squad The Floorlords, known to some as “that crew with that shoe named after them,” have been holding it down since 1981 in Boston. Featuring footage from too many of your favorite crews to mention, this DVD is at the top of my queue. NETFLIX LINK
		Ultimate B-Boy: City vs. City A good watch, this one unfortunately has commentary over the “Instant Watch” version. If you don’t mind listening to three dudes eat and drink while talking about each dancer that’s on screen, then go for it; otherwise, put it on mute. The DVD version allows you to turn this off and just watch the battles. NETFLIX LINK
		B-Boy Masters I have to admit, the title and cover graphics on this one make me suspicious, but I’m willing to give it a try. NETFLIX LINK
