Is Universal Flava the YouTube for B-Boys?
POSTED ON November 16th, 2010 BY Calvin
B-boys used to get fame in person or by word of mouth.
Then came a flurry of VHS tapes. Hard drives got cluttered with short, pixelated video clips as b-boys then made the transition to DVD’s. Then this thing called “YouTube” kind of took over. And now, it seems, Universal Flava aims to take it back to the b-boys.
The concept is simple: the site allows dancers and dance enthusiasts to upload and watch dance clips. Like YouTube, Universal Flava lets users make friends and form groups.
A massive migration from YouTube to Universal Flava has yet to begin, but what’s there seems promising.
Take, for instance, the “slo-mo” button that lets you analyze a video in slow motion with a click of the mouse.
Why hasn’t anyone done this before? Once I get a button to make WOO sounds and a button to identify bitten moves, I’ll probably never leave this chair again.
