Stuff B-Boys Like: Letting You Know When You’ve Touched the Ground

Tom Cruise just did a perfect run
It’s no secret that battle tactics are effective. It’s not a rare occasion when a dancer can defeat a more skilled opponent just by being more charismatic or intimidating. But sometimes the way people respond to moves can become just as trendy as the moves themselves.
It’s become a reflex. The same way b-boys will immediately start yelling obscenities when The Mexican comes on or get all huffy when someone says the word “breakdance,” something snaps in b-boys’ minds when they see someone touch the floor. If, for example, a b-boy accidentally scrapes the floor during a flare, his opponentĀ will almost always tap the floor to draw attention to the sloppy execution.
Tom Cruise would’ve won this round, but he did that sweat drop set earlier in the battle
Other times, b-boys get carried away with it. In the middle of a battle, entire crews will bend and squat and start pounding the floor with their palms like they’re in the Incredible Bongo Band. Meanwhile, the kid dancing gets really confused because all he’s done is toprock and footwork, touching the ground, because no one’s taught him to do it otherwise.
This will all change in 2011 when all b-boying will happen in midair. Anyone who can’t spin fast enough to become a levitating human propeller will automatically be disqualified. Better start training, guys.
Is it an effective battle technique to be a floor pressure sensor?

god forbid somebody rolls back into a hollowback/headhollow and touches the floor with one foot on accident
I think if you’re going to tap the ground and call a crash it better be a verified crash. Not if someone slows down their six step or changes the speed of their moves. A lot of people throw out the crashing sign and biting sign just to do it and I think that’s whack.
