B-boys and b-girls are now pretty familiar with Daptone Records’ Budos Band and Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings (and if you’re not, check out Got a Thing on My Mind by Sharon Jones and the entire second Budos Band album).

Apparently, Scion commissioned artists like Kenny Dope, Mark Ronson, and DJ Spinna to produce a remix album from the Daptone Records’ catalog, and it’s now available as a free download on World’s Fair’s site. If you are expecting an album full of hard breaks, you may be disappointed. Only two songs keep the nu-funk breaks intact (the Kenny Dope and DJ Spinna tracks), but the rest are still dope.
