When we posted a link to the funkDC site a few weeks ago, we got an e-mail from DJ Lokee, one of the DJs featured in that post. He linked us to another free mix that he thought we might enjoy. It’s rare that we get a mix sent to us, and it’s even more rare that the person who sends it isn’t promoting some event or website. It seems that Lokee just genuinely wants to get some people dancing, and I’m sure you’re all happy to oblige.

Here’s a mix from a block party I did this past fourth of
July. This was from a couple of hours in, when I dipped into the older
stuff (I won’t bore you guys with the sections of newer music). This
section is a mix of styles, moving from funk to r&b and disco classics
to hip hop and into house. It’s not strictly bboy music, and most of the
songs are classics, so they’re well known–no super secrets on this one,
people. That said, it’s definitely one for the dancers.
