The Super B-Beat Show: Part B-Boy Mix, Part B-Boy Public Radio
POSTED ON April 28th, 2009 BY PaulDJs Sake, Son of Jarel, and Mane One, known collectively as The 1520 Sedgwick Ave. DJS, have a weekly hour-long or so podcast called The Super B-Beat Show in which they not only drop the ill mixes that they’re known for, but also conduct interviews, host guest DJs, and talk about shit that makes them angry and shit that makes them happy.
For example, I’m listening to their April 12th show right now where they discuss “songs you shouldn’t play at a b-boy jam.” It’s a fun glimpse into the world of b-boy DJs, a very underappreciated part of the b-boy community. Plus they just played this song and then ragged on it for a few minutes, which for some reason had me cracking up.
They generously break up these non-musical parts of the show with 15-30 minute mixes, as solid as you’ve come to expect from these guys. And they’ve even got guest mixes from DJs like Skeme Richards and Ill-literate.
Make sure you snatch them up quickly though since as the website states, they remove the MP3s after four weeks.
