Ask people who don’t know, and they’ll tell you that toprock is just that jumping and shuffling crap you see before people actually “breakdance.” Ask people who do know, and well–you’d probably end up with something like TOP ROCK CITY.

The site showcases Mr. Wiggles and YNOT as they discuss the history, music and culture behind the oft-misunderstood dance.

YNOT writes:

A lot of people ask me the question..”How do I come up with my own top rock steps?”….I tell them “Bite and re-write!”

I love all dances old and new. To me the best dances are party dances or what we call social dances. They are being created almost everyday in your neighborhood or at the club. Some become more popular than others. Either way, to create from these steps you have to learn what the dances are and how to use them to make up your own Top Rock.

For now, the information is contained in the blog section of a MySpace page, but there are promises of a full Web site and knowledge from Trac 2 coming soon.
