RoxRite: The Difference between Stacks and Freeze Frames
POSTED ON August 23rd, 2009 BY CalvinFact: everywhere you go, people have different names for even the most basic of b-boy moves. No biggie, then, that a lot of people are unable to say they’ve heard terms like “stacks” or “freeze frames” — much less define or explain them.
Luckily, RoxRite (who we featured here) breaks down his extensive technical knowledge on his blog here.
According to RoxRite,
Freeze Framing is more of a continuos movement through freezes. They become more like steps then actual freezes. The last freeze is what will add the exclamation to the whole freeze combination. It feels more rhythmic then stacks.
And be sure not to miss this where he kills it in a post about b-boys doing moves in a video that they can’t do in real life, thus giving away their element of surprise.
With advice like that, it’s no surprise that the Bboy Spot was inspired to create the RoxRite-themed shirt design shown above. First Kid David, then RoxRite — who’s next?
