In case you missed it, earlier this month Red Bull announced the winners of its Hit and Run competition. The contest challenged crews of four b-boys to engage in what my homeboy Chris and I like to call “renegade b-boying.”

Judges Kujo and Zulu Gremlin chose winners on the basis of “creativity of execution, the riskiness and iconic value of the spot, originality of the dancers, difficulty of moves in the environment, use of environment and how it’s incorporated into the dancers’ style.” HaviKoro came out on top, winning them a trip to BC One in France.

It’s an interesting testament to the longstanding conflict between cops and b-boys, and it reminds me of the interesting results you can find when you search for “bboy walmart” on YouTube. Don’t lie — we’ve all been tempted to get down at the most random places.
