Rock History from Ken Swift
POSTED ON November 29th, 2008 BY Calvin

Quick, what’s the difference between toprocking and uprocking?

It’s a question that most b-boys and b-girls have posed at one point or another, yet surprisingly few of us can actually answer the question well.

Ken Swift’s revamped BreakLife site offers some interesting and informative videos, history, and clarifications concerning rocking.

From the site:

“Rock”, also known as “Rocking”, is an incredible yet misunderstood dance with origins from Brooklyn and other boroughs in the city. Pioneering dancers from the Rock Alliance will take you on a journey tapping into different styles from different neighborhoods in NYC.

There are two dope videos from “The History of the Rock” and a few other trailers and clips featured so far. There’s not a whole lot in terms of quantity yet, but the quality of the content and the upcoming videos and updates make BreakLife a site to watch out for.
