B-Boying + Soccer = Crazy
POSTED ON April 21st, 2009 BY Calvin

Looks like Jeon Kwon is the latest in the trend of Koreans taking something that’s already kinda weird (like StarCraft, pencil tricks, and a bunch of other stuff) and taking to a level where it’s mind-blowingly weird.

Primarily a soccer “freestyler,” there are some obvious b-boying influences at work here, especially when he goes down to do “footwork” along with some threads, “stalls,” freezes, and even a swipe.

Of course, this isn’t the first time people have molded soccer with b-boying. It wasn’t that long ago that every other company was putting out commercials that were more or less ridiculous, like the ones from Nike, Pepsi or FIFA. A little less far-fetched are these other clips from Last 4 One and Nike.

I watched all of the videos that you linked to, and it’s amazing how much they all bite from each other.

It’s hard to tell which one came first with all of the rampant unoriginality.

Still though, they are fun to watch.
