Long before the debate pitting Team Edward against Team Jacob, the perceived rivalry between the U.S.’s Casper and Korea’s Born took the online b-boy community by storm.

A storm of shit-talking, that is. Spanning across what seemed like several cyphers and battles (and even more YouTube clips!), the two insulted and burned one another in their native languages in a series of encounters that a scripted drama couldn’t top. As words and moves flew, e-boys’ eyes and jaws widened as they realized an inevitable truth: cyphers can be freaking scary.

In retrospect, even if only a few years’ worth, the clips are actually more interesting. Not only would both b-boys’ fame increase exponentially in years to come, but they’d end up as crewmates as fellow Mighty Zulu Kings. Oh well. In Born’s words (immortalized at the end of the clip above and oft-quoted by fans), “MY STYLE, MY FLAVA.”
